Welcome to Making Your own Clothing
Get started here with patternmaking, sewing, and designing tutorials for yourself
My name is Ande Linn. I have a Bachelor's in Fashion Design from the Academy of Art University, where I graduated in 2020. My expertise is in patternmaking and technical design. I found my love for historical fashion and sustainability during my time in college, which I have been further researching since graduating.
My health took a turn for the worse a couple months after lockdown started, and I've been diagnosed with P.O.T.S. (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), endometriosis, and chronic basilar migraines since then. It took quite a bit out of me, but I began to figure out how to manage my symptoms over the past year and a half.
I may be chronically ill, but that doesn't stop me from following my passions.
I am an avid connoisseur of books, TV, and film of the fantasy romance/adventure variety. I'm also a fan of music of all genres. I would love to recreate some of the outfits I see and read about. I also love ready to wear and haute couture.
Now back to the main topic at hand
I am a hands-on learner, like I know most others are. I learn by doing. This channel will consist of tutorials and experimental processes of patternmaking, sewing, and designing. I'll occasionally talk about my chronic illnesses and working in fashion, but that's not the main reason any of us are here, right?
