Hello & Welcome

Get started here with patternmaking, sewing, and designing tutorials for yourself

My name is Ande Linn. I have a Bachelor's in Fashion Design from the Academy of Art University, where I graduated in 2020. My expertise is in patternmaking and technical design. I found my love for historical fashion and sustainability during my time in college, which I have been further researching since graduating.

My health took a turn for the worse a couple months after lockdown started, and I've been diagnosed with P.O.T.S. (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome), endometriosis, and chronic basilar migraines since then. It took quite a bit out of me, but I began to figure out how to manage my symptoms over the past year and a half.

I may be chronically ill, but that doesn't stop me from following my passions.

I am an avid connoisseur of books, TV, and film of the fantasy romance/adventure variety. I'm also a fan of music of all genres. I would love to recreate some of the outfits I see and read about. I also love ready to wear and haute couture.

Now back to the main topic at hand

I am a hands-on learner, like I know most others are. I learn by doing. I would like to teach others how to make their own clothes from every level of the design process. This website will consist of tutorials and experimental processes of patternmaking, sewing, and designing. I'll occasionally talk about my chronic illnesses while working in fashion, but that's not the main reason any of us are here, right?

Having custom clothing in this economy sounds like something only the ultra-wealthy could afford, but once you start accumulating the skills of patternmaking and sewing, you'll be able to create a wardrobe fit for royalty.

The designs here won't be your typical home sewing projects. I lean toward the darker sides of life. There are influences of punk, rock, gothic, fantasy, and historic costuming in my designs.

Ready?

Grab your needle and thread and get ready to make the wardrobe of your dreams. Each month there will be a new pattern and tutorial which will be posted here and on YouTube. There will also be quick tips, tricks, and techniques posted here, on YouTube, and on TikTok. Follow me on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube for the latest updates.
