San Francisco has one of the most advanced composting and recycling systems in the country. To celebrate the changing of trash and waste to new products through those systems, this project uses only fabric, yarn, and notions from recycled post-consumer garments. The metamorphosis of ugly trash to fun and quirky garments is the reason I chose to enter the fashion industry. Sustainability and reusing materials already in the system are more important now than ever. Since the Chinese recycling ban started, only nine percent of the world's waste is recycled. Garment recycling is a lower percentage than that. That's why it is imperative to think from a different perspective for future uses of materials.
