My Father's Journey

Being a military brat, this collection brought me back home. My father was in the U.S. Navy for 21 years as an aviation structural mechanic first class. When growing up, my dad would always tell me his stories from his service time. In honor of the time served, I based this collection on his favorite ship and aircraft to work on, the U.S.S John F. Kennedy, and the F-14 Tomcat.

This is my dad's recruitment photo from when he enlisted in 1977. He was in the Navy for 21 years before retiring to become and electrician. He always told me the stories of when he was aboard the carriers and all his favorite places he's docked.

Most of my design inspiration came from the shapes and silhouettes of the aircrafts and the ships. The colors were taken from the American flag and the metal of the ships.
